It's possible French actress Marion Cotillard could have been replaced as a love interest for Christian Bale's Batman in the movie, The Dark Knight Rises.
That's because she was due with her first child, a son named Marcel, around the beginning of filming for the third installment in the franchise.
Director Christopher Nolan tells the August issue of Vogue magazine he wanted to 'figure it out'.

Most of her scenes were pushed back a month and Nolan made room on set for Cotillard's family.

Still, he marveled at the Academy Award winner's ability to do her job so soon after giving birth, calling it 'amazing to see' and describing her as 'Superwoman'.

Nolan and Cotillard also worked together on the 2010 film Inception.
The August issue of Vogue magazine hits stores July 24 - four days after her debut in The Dark Knight Rises.

The actress' hair is draped around the side of her neck and blown back from the face, the tousled style complimenting her natural make-up.
The talented Cotillard, 36, has won a best actress Oscar, a Bafta, and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of French singer Edith Piaf in 2007's La Vie en Rose and received critical acclaim for her role in Nolan's Inception.

But as the director suggested, Cotillard, who welcomed her first child in May with French actor and director Guillaume Canet, shows no signs of plans to slow down her career.
She is often seen bringing her young son to the Brooklyn set of her new movie, Blood Ties, directed by Canet.
The film - co-starring Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana and Clive Owen - centres around two brothers, on either side of the law, who face off over organised crime in the borough
The couple first met on the set of the 2003 film Love Me If You Dare and started dating about four years later.
